Saypad Support
Help with dictation, the Saypad keyboard, Local transcription and your account.
Set up Saypad on iPhone
- Open Saypad. Sign in with your email for Cloud, or choose Use Local for free and download the Local model in Settings.
- In iPhone Settings, open General → Keyboard → Keyboards → Add New Keyboard and add Saypad. Open Saypad in that list and allow Full Access.
- Open Saypad and start a session. Allow microphone access when asked.
- Return to your text field. Hold the globe key and select Saypad. Tap the microphone, speak, and tap again to insert the text.
- End the session in Saypad when finished. The microphone stays active between dictations while the session is on; idle audio is discarded.
The keyboard says Open Saypad
Open Saypad from your Home Screen and start a session, then return to your text field. iOS does not let the keyboard start its own microphone session. If iOS interrupts the microphone, start a new session in the app.
Full Access
Full Access lets the keyboard and app share dictation requests, text and local History. The keyboard does not send what you type. Cloud uploads dictation audio through the app; Local keeps audio on this iPhone. Read the privacy policy for the data flow.
Use Local offline
In Settings, turn on Download Local model. The 190 MB model is free and needs no account. Keep Saypad open while it downloads. You can pause, resume or delete it there. Once ready, Local handles dictation when signed out, offline, or out of Cloud minutes. Deleting Local does not delete History.
English and Urdu
Open Settings → Dictation language. Choose English or Urdu. The choice applies to Cloud and Local. Finish the current dictation before changing it.
Cancel and recover
Tap Cancel while recording to discard that dictation. If Send audio while you talk is on, audio already sent to Cloud cannot be recalled. If transcription fails, the recording stays in History. Use Retry dictation after restoring your connection or downloading Local.
Where the keyboard works
iOS uses its own keyboard in secure password fields and may block custom keyboards in some apps. Use Saypad in a supported text field, then copy from History if needed. iPhone does not have Android's floating dictation bubble.
Trial and account
New Cloud accounts receive 30 days and 1,000 minutes, with no card needed. Local remains free after the trial. The iPhone and Android apps currently have no purchase flow. Check Account for your trial dates and Cloud minutes. To delete your account, open Account → Delete account. History on this device stays after deletion.
